As we celebrate the 4th of July today I wonder if Americans take their “freedom” for granted. We live in a “free” country…but what does that mean? Freedom, or liberty, means “the condition in which an individual has the ability to act according to his or her own will.” God has given us free will to do whatever we want, but with that freedom comes consequences. Is the person addicted to cigarettes free? Is the person under the power of alcohol free? Is the person addicted to pornography free?

What does the Bible say about freedom/liberty?

Galatians 5:1
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

John 8:36 
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

If you are in bondage today, whether it is because of addictions or personal struggles, you can be free! Surrender your life to Christ and HE will free you from whatever you are up against-in Jesus’ name!
