Often I am asked, “so, you NEVER wear pants?!” Is it that hard to believe? If we think back to just a few years ago women all over the world wore skirts and dresses every day. They worked on farms in dresses, did housework, and participated in extracurricular activities. As time went on the role of the woman changed a bit and so did her style of dress.
Don’t get me wrong…I used to LOVE wearing a nice jean from Express, but after much prayer I decided to give up the (tight) jeans!
Now, there are some women who wear skirts everyday and I WISH they would put on some pants because their skirts are SO short and SO tight-pants would be more modest! But, that’s neither here nor there…
The reason I am posting this is because I want the naysayers to have an open mind. I do EVERYTHING in a dress. I teach aerobics, go snowshoeing, ride bikes, play volleyball, even swim! Anything you can do I can do…BETTER!
;)
It’s all about setting a standard. I try to dress as modest as I can so as to not cause a stumblingblock. Now, we accept the standards this world puts on us, why not set standards to separate us from the world?
There are standards for dress in the military. There are standards for dress in corporate America. Those are easy to understand, right?
I’m not saying that pants on a woman are not modest. There are some styles that make a woman look absolutely feminine. There are also some that make me think, “are you in pain?” LOL!
All I am saying ladies is take a few moments and think about your wardrobe. Are you reflecting God’s glory, or are you sharing with the world each nook and cranny you own? Think about it.
All my confident women wearing those skirts and dresses everyday…throw your hands up! This is a shout out to you:)
